Charles Kohler and John Calvin Campbell founded the company in 1894, and during the course of its incredible history, it went on to acquire control over literally dozens of piano makers and firms. The "Standard Pneumatic Action Company," a Kohler & Campbell subsidiary, produced an astounding 50,000 player piano actions a year for piano manufacturers worldwide during the pre-depression era! There were several well-known piano manufacturers associated with Kohler & Campbell.
