Oh man, they don't make them like this anymore. Gorgeous tiger oak cabinet with dark black grain in excellent condition. It has the beautiful original keys made of you know what. This piano spent its whole life loved and cared for and shows it. Tuned regularly and played often and sounds wonderful.

It is an excellent condition. Made in 1936 here in the good ol' USA. Antique grand pianos are my favorite! They have the richest and warmest sound. With booming bass and bright treble. An antique piano like this that is still in good playable condition are some of the best sounding pianos in the world, with depth and character. They have SOUL!!!

There is just something about 100 year old copper strings, 500 year old-growth timber, being hand built and assembled that modern day technology cannot reproduce.

Chickering & Sons was the first piano manufacturer in America. Chickering quickly became one of the largest and most successful piano manufacturers of all time. The firm was originally established in Boston in 1823 by Jonas Chickering and his partner James Stewart.

Chickering was an innovative manufacturer and the firm was not afraid to take risks. During the 19th and early 20th Centuries, Chickering was constantly evolving and improving their designs in order to build the finest piano possible. Chickering’s unique approach to unconventional and improved design paid off in the 19th Century when celebrity pianists like Franz Liszt and Louis Moreau Gottschalk endorsed Chickering & Sons, stating that their instruments were the only instruments that would hold up to their strenuous performances! Liszt and Gottschalk always played Chickering pianos on their American concert tours.
